2012 Internship at East Fork Farm

We are now canvassing to fill two full-time intern positions for the 2012 farm season.  Come live on the farm and learn about all of the aspects of successfully raising happy & healthy farm animals.

  • Rotational grazing

  • Controlling evasive plants

General farm maintenance

  • Weed trimming
  • Fence building and maintenance

  • Tailgate market sales
  • Wholesale deliveries

    What’s expected of you:

    • Above all else – honesty (no trust equals no internship)
    • Open communication
    • Dependability
    • Positive attitude
    • If you make a mess, clean it up
    • If you see something that needs doing or fixing, take care of it
    • Positive representation of the farm at all times
    • Capable of lifting 50+ pounds
    • Willingness to learn
    • I-9 form and documentation
    • No significant others, no children, no pets

    Stipend and other benefits:

    • Weekly $150 stipend
    • 5% cut of market sales when working market
    • Fruits and vegetables from the garden
    • We do take out payroll taxes and provide you with a W-2 at the end of the year

    Living area

    • Furnished house with bed, desk, toaster oven, refrigerator, hot pad, crockpot, heat, outdoor furniture, dishes, linens, pots & pans, electricity, washing machine access, clothes line use, access to a shared bathroom, access to a computer with internet, access to our pond.
